IMU’s Success Acknowledged by Global Ranking Institutions

Istanbul Medeniyet University’s (IMU) achievements in various areas from research, citations, and teaching to social and environmental impact and institutional reputation have been acknowledged by several global ranking institutions in 2021. In addition to being listed in 2021 Impact Rankings by Times Higher Education, IMU has also attained significant achievements in the global rankings by two other prestigious ranking institutions.

In the SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR) 2021, which assesses academic and research-related institutions based on three different sets of indicators; i.e., research performance, innovation outputs and societal impact measured by their web visibility, Istanbul Medeniyet University was ranked the 580th globally among 4126 universities and the 43rd among 125 Turkish universities listed in the SIR rankings. The SIR 2021 also assessed the scientific performance of universities in 19 different areas and ranked IMU as the 2nd in Turkey, 17th in the Middle East, and 397th globally in Economics, Econometrics and Finance; the 10th in Turkey, 42nd in the Middle East, and 385th globally in Environmental Science; the 6th in Turkey and 34th in the Middle East in Business, Management and Accounting, and the 26th in Turkey, 66th in the Middle East, and 372nd globally in Dentistry among the listed universities.

Webometrics Ranking Web of Universities, which assesses universities according to the volume, presence, and impact of their web content, listed 11,987 universities from all around the globe for its 2021 university rankings. Istanbul Medeniyet University ranks the 2243nd among all these 11,987 universities globally and the 63rd among a total of 212 universities listed from Turkey.
